Winnipeg Wedding Photographers - Rural Manitoba - G & J Engaged

When I think about photography and why I like it so much, I'm constantly reminded about "the magic". Those special moments that happen only once, in the blink of an eye when everything is just perfect. I sometimes get to be there for those moments, and sometimes we try hard to recreate them. A lot of couples try hard to recreate magic moments too, and their Pinterest boards are proof. I assure you though, it's not as easy as it looks, nor does it happen as often as some would like to think. But as we develop as photographers, growing into our style and our equipment, I think the chances of catching those magical moments happen more often.

It didn't take much to create the magic when we were with G & J. We had some ideas for this session and they jumped right in, not knowing where we were going with it but trusting us fully. The perfect calm summer night. Temperature, wind and light, they all came together for us. We're going to go ahead and say this is just a teaser for how their wedding is going to be next August.

Winnipeg Wedding Photographers - Grunthal, Manitoba - B & W

As the cold weather drifts south and engulfs us in it's frigid embrace, our thoughts need to turn to warmer things. The memories of summer keep most of us northerners sane through the next 6 months.

B & W tied the knot on one of those perfect summer days, the type of day that every bride hopes for, and most fathers-of-the-bride pray for. It was perfectly set in rural Manitoba where country charm and scenery met class and elegance.

Thanks for sharing your day with us B & W, you're so fun, so full of life.

Winnipeg Wedding Photographers - Warren, Manitoba - R & N

There are so many types of weddings and ways to do a wedding. In fact, I'm not sure there's a way to really mess it up. But I do know for sure, that R & N certainly did it right. Located on an expansive property and old farm northwest of Winnipeg, the scene was set for a perfect day. It was the first wedding I had been to that had all the friends and family physically camped out on location. They had a collection of RV's, trailers, tent trailers and tents set up in and among the bushes. Extension cords criss crossed the manicured lawns, and generators hummed out of sight. The groomsmen leaned against an old barn and cracked equal amount of jokes to 'cold ones',  laughs echoed all around.

July on the prairies can be the most beautiful time of the year, but it can also bring unsettled weather. Like the farmers that once lived on this old yard, we watched the skies like hawks, and nervously hoped the clouds wouldn't break over us. Well, they did break over us, and unleashed a deluge of down pouring water. It lasted only moments, but felt like an eternity at the time, and then gave way to one of the most beautiful evenings of the summer. What a wonderful day, with wonderful people, capturing memories that will stick with us forever.

Cole is One!

Our little guy turned one this month. We are so in love with this nose-scrunch smiling, exploring, adventure seeking, giggling, blue-eyed boy. He is such a special member of our family and we can't get enough of him. Hard to believe that our baby is already one.

We planned a birthday party for him and thought it would be fitting to make it a John Deere party! He was thrilled to ride the tractor!
